The 20-year-old joined the Pilgrims on an initial one-month loan deal but after turning in some impressive performances Argyle boss Paul Sturrock has decided he wants to keep the youngster for the rest of the season. "I'm very pleased he's signed," Sturrock told the Plymouth official website. "I think a lot of people have looked at this player from a different perspective, because he comes from the Premier League. "He has been under the microscope. He got off to a bad start in the Colchester game, in which no-one really played well, and that affected his confidence a wee bit. "But, since the Brentford game, we have seen a better Peter Gilbert, and I'm sure he will get better and better - and you have to remember that he's only just 20."
