Blues boss Steve Bruce revealed after Saturdays draw at Fulham that Blues were 'close ' to signing a new midfielder and either the Cameroon or the Czech are said to be the player Bruce is after.
Geremi is believed to be being made available for transfer should Chelsea complete the signing of Michael Essien from Lyon and would cost Blues in the region of £2million.
Further reports suggest that Bruce is keen on another Chelsea midfielder, Jiri Jarosik, who has made just six starts for the Londoners since his move from CSKA Moscow in January this year.
