The Finland international, who has scored five goals in nine games so far this season, has been on an initial four month loan deal and other clubs were showing an interest in his signature. "We've spoken to Chelsea again and the agreement now is that Mikael is with us for the rest of the season," said Blues boss Steve Bruce. "There is no danger of him going anywhere else in the transfer window and we are delighted that he will be with us until the end of the season. "Obviously, if Chelsea suffer a spate of injuries up front then things may change, but that is the same with any loan deal. "Then in the summer, if there's a deal to be done and Chelsea are willing to sell Mikael, then great. "We haven't explored that avenue yet, but we do hope to try and be in a position next summer where we can try and buy him."
