The Finland international, who was on a second season long loan deal at St Andrew's, managed just four starts for Blues at the beginning of the season before a serious knee injury forced him to undergo surgery and ruled him out of action for six months.
Blues have therefore invoked a clause in the deal meaning Forssell will now return to Chelsea where he will continue his rehabilitation which is expected to take at least another three months.
I wonder if Blues are now planning to raid Chelsea for another of their players as with Forssell returning to Stamford Bridge we are now allowed to take another player on loan from the Premier League leaders??
