Fagan, on loan at Layer Road for the rest of the season, was sent-off just 28 minutes into the U's 4-0 drubbing and with the score only 1-0 at the time of his red-card he felt somewhat responsible for the final scoreline. "We were already one goal down and getting sent-off didn't help our cause at all. I was very upset for the lads. "Their player tripped me and I caught him as I went down. The next thing I knew the referee was over me brandishing a red card."
"I've already apologised to the captain in the dressing room for letting the manager and the rest of the lads down," he told the Essex Chronicle.
