The Blues record signing has not played since limping out of the FA Cup 5th round replay against Sunderland at St Andrews back in February.
Thoughts then were that he would not play again this season but after making a sooner-than-expected recovery form the torn hamstring he has been pencilled in for a possible return to action at Charlton this weekend.
Dunn however is aware that having been troubled with hamstring problems for the past 2 seasons he does not want to rush back only to find himself on the sidelines for a long spell again.
The Blues midfielder came through a practice match on wednesday and will now leave the decision on whether he returns this weekend at The Valley with manager Steve Bruce.
The other option is to not play on saturday but step up his bid to regain match fitness in the Blues Reserves side that play Everton next Tuesday and return to first team action against Wolves at St Andrew's on Sunday 25th April, his original target date.
