Dunn Return In Doubt

The Blues midfielder, who has been sidelined for two months with a torn hamstring, has been targetting the local derby at St. Andrews as the date on which to make a return to Steve Bruce's side but the club revealed on Thursday that he may not yet be ready for a return to first team action.

Dunn was said to be in consideration for the trip to Charlton last week but after a behind-closed-doors practice game last Thursday he was sore the day after and didn't travel for the game at The Valley.

A return to action was then pencilled in for Dunn in the Reserves game on Tuesday night but once again, after a practice match on Monday, it was decided against risking him in Keith Bertschin's second string squad for the game against Everton Reserves at Southend FC.

The Blues management team have made it clear that they are not prepared to try and rush the record signing back into action because he has returned too early from hamstring injuries twice already this season so his intended return to the squad against Wolves on Sunday now looks very doubtful indeed.
