Bruce was more than impressed with the mercurial Frenchmans performance in the 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers and feels that it is only a matter of time now before Dugarry is back to the kind of form that went a long way to keeping Blues in the Premiership last season. "He set fantastic standards with what he did here during that period. He did more than most to keep us in this division. "It must be remembered he has come back from a knee operation, probably ahead of schedule, and he has been getting himself in fine fettle in terms of fitness. "Everyone should be giving Christophe the benefit of the doubt and saying `let's judge him in six months time.' "I thought Christophe was absolutely magnificent in the last match against Bolton. Some of the stuff he tried didn't quite come off for him but, in terms of the way he led the line, he was awesome. "Anyone knocking him should have said after that game `I'm sorry to have knocked him and doubted him.' "I am sure Christophe will go on from there. I've never had any doubt in my mind that he would get back last season's form."
"Christophe knows that he had not been playing to the level of last season," said Bruce.
