After reviewing video footage of an incident involving the French striker and Rovers defender Craig Short during the first half of the Premiership clash at St. Andrews last month the FA are to charge Dugarry with violent conduct, an offence which will mean a three-game ban if he is found guilty.
A statement on the FA's official website from wednesday reads: "The FA have today charged Birmingham City's Christophe Dugarry with violent behaviour (breach of FA Rule E2).
"This follows an incident involving Craig Short during the match against Blackburn Rovers on 6th December 2003.
"He has until 21st January to respond."
Blues boss Steve Bruce has already promised to contest the FA's decision claiming that although he felt Dugarry did make contact with Short he did not feel it was intentional.
