Niether of the Blues defenders have made an appearance this season, Murphy having broken his kneecap and Ridgewell breaking his leg towards the end of last season's promotion campaign. "It's good news with Liam Ridgewell and David Murphy, they're both training" McLeish has told the Birmingham Mail. "Ridgewell has made an incredible recovery. "But it's great to see them both back involved on the training pitch."
However, Alex McLeish has confirmed that both players have now returned to training - Ridgewell sooner than the Blues boss expected.
"Murphy had a bust kneecap. It was longer than we thought with him but, to be honest, I felt the initial diagnosis of when he would be fit again was far too short.
