Cunningham misses vital clash

Cunningham was booked in the Republic's last group ten qualifier against Russia at Landsdowne Road earlier this month and will be serving a one match ban.

The Republic of Ireland skipper will therefore miss the make-or-break clash against the Swiss at the St. Jakob Park Stadium in Basel on October 11th.

Blues striker Clinton Morrison is, however, expected to be named in Brian Kerr's squad named sometime this week.

Kerr has revealed that he was pleased to see Morrisson, who has not started a Premiership game for Blues so far this season, getting a game under his belt in Blues' recent Carling Cup defeat at Blackpool where he played for the full ninety minutes.
