The Blues striker is likely to spearhead the Republic of Irelands attack in their World Cup qualifier against Israel in Tel Aviv this weekend and despite being overlooked in the Blues starting eleven in recent weeks Morrison remains confident that he can score the goals to help Brian Kerr's reach the finals in Germany next year. “But every time I pull on a green jersey, I usually do the business so my confidence is sky high. I never lose confidence. “Since Brian has come in I think I’ve done alright. So far I haven’t let him down at all so I hope to keep that going. He stuck by me even when I went 11 games without scoring. “My confidence was a bit low then but Brian and Chris (Houghton) sat me down and told me I was doing well for the team even though I was missing chances. “Then I got the goal against Cyprus and I knew I’d go on a scoring run. I always do. If I hadn’t got injured against France, I was 100 percent sure I was going to score. “I don’t think Israel are a bad team. They got a 0-0 draw in the Stade de France. We know it’s going to be difficult but we’ve been to hard places before. “We’re going to win but if we got a draw it would be a good result, though personally I would be disappointed.”
“I’m disappointed not to be playing at Birmingham,” he told the official Ireland website.
