With five games still to play this season and with Blues already down to the bare bones in terms of squad numbers the last thing they would need now is players missing games through supensions if they are to continue their battle for a top five finish.
The Blues midfielders second half booking at Fratton Park puts him, along with Olivier Tebily and Aliou Cisse, on a total of four yellow cards for the season.
Defender Kenny Cunningham also received a yellow card in the 3-1 defeat at Portsmouth, his third caution of the season.
