Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy comfirmed earlier this week that he is keen on keeping Carter and that he had already spoken to Blues boss Steve Bruce about turning the loan into a season long deal. "Mick has brought me here and had the faith in me to give me games, which is what I've needed, and I'm grateful."
Now the 20-year-old Blues midfielder has admitted that he is thoroughly enjoying his time on Wearside and would jump at the chance of staying at The Stadium of Light for the remainder of the season.
"I love it here and I hope Birmingham let me stay, promotion is well within our reach this season," he told BBC Sport.
Carter is currently just over two months into a three month loan spell with the promotion-chasing Black Cats.
