Blues boss Steve Bruce has confirmed that, after further talks with the England Under-20 international midfielder this week, he is confident that Carter will sign a two year extension on his present contract within the next couple of days. Carter's existing contract at St. Andrew's is due to expire in the summer and talks on a new deal have been ongoing for the last eighteen months.
