However, McClaren has said that when enquiring about Butt he was told that the player is staying at Old Trafford for the time being!
"He's a player I've always admired, we've made enquiries along those lines and the latest I have is that Nicky Butt is staying at Manchester United and that's the end of that," McClaren said.
