The 19-year-old Blues goalkeeper is considered one of the most sought-after young English prospects, with reported interest from Liverpool, Tottenham and Southampton. Despite his only first-team football action coming during a loan spell with fourth-tier Cheltenham, Butland's stock has risen rapidly since his inclusion in England's Euro 2012 squad.
The Bristol-born player has also been named in the Team GB squad for London 2012 - something that he insists has his undivided attention despite rumours circulating about his future. He told Press Association Sport: "You can't let it distract you. At the end of the day, it is all rumours until it becomes a necessity and it needs to happen."
He added: "But for now, I am where I need to be. I need to play games at Birmingham and the rumours can carry on.
"They are no distraction for me. I know there are rumours but I can't let it affect what I do.
"I need to play games this year and to carry on developing.
"If I don't get those games, then other things are going to start to fall down.
"For example, if I don't play games I might not get called up for England again.
"It's things like that I need to get under my belt, to improve again and keep everything else going."
