Brucies View: Leeds

Dunn's spot kick, awarded after Roque Junior had fouled Mikael Forssell, was superbly saved by the England keeper, only for the referee's assistant to point-out that he had moved, forcing a re-take which Robbie Savage duly converted.

"It's a bit of a superstition of mine that I don't watch them," Bruce said after the 2-0 victory.

"I've heard the goalkeeper pulled off a great save, however, the linesman, and you have to applaud him because it takes a lot of guts, put his flag up because he thought Robinson had moved.

"Fair play to him. Whether he did or he didn't we'll have to take a look at later, but it's fair to say we have had that little bit of luck we needed."

Bruce also singled out the contribution of on-loan striker Mikael Forssell: "He has got us the penalty and then the second goal with the best bit of quality in the whole game.

"There was a lack of that before then as it was two teams committed to the cause.

"You were always hoping you'd produce quality at some stage and thankfully we did that and we punished Leeds."
