It seems that everytime Newcastle have lost a game the Blues boss has been widely tipped as one of the favourites to takeover at St. James' Park should the Magpies part company with their 71-year-old former England boss. "Bobby has signed a new one-year contract," said Shepherd. "He's got one more season to go after this season which I think he's happy with and we're happy with, so he's here until the end of 2005. "Knowing Bobby, I wouldn't be surprised by anything that happens. He's a one-off."
However, Newcastle chairman Freddie Shepherd has confirmed that Robson has signed an extension on his contract that will keep him at the club until the end of season 2004-05 - at least!
Hopefully this news will now put an end to all the rumours linking Brucey with the job at his hometown club.
