The want-away Wales international midfielder, who was today training with the Blues youth squad, was not considered for first team duties for the league game against Bolton on Tuesday evening following his transfer request the day before.
Savage made a 83 minute reserve team appearance in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle's second string on Thursday night and is not available for the FA Cup tie against Leeds United on saturday as he serves a one game ban for collecting five bookings this season.
However, despite speculation surrounding his future at St Andrew's Bruce has confirmed that if he feels Savage's inclusion would benefit the team and the player was mentally right then he will be picked for first team duty.
Meanwhile, Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has declared that Rovers have had a second offer for Savage rejected by Blues and that if any deal to take the player to Ewood Park is not resolved shortly he would have to start looking elsewhere.
