The Blues boss failed in his efforts to bring the former Leeds and Charlton midfielder to St Andrew's last month when, after being given permission to speak to the player by The Magpies, Bowyer indicated that he would prefer a move to London or France. "We would still like to do something with Lee Bowyer," Bruce told Sky Sports News. "I have still got an interest in the player, but whether he is still available or not, I am not sure. "It has been two or three weeks since we spoke to him and we will see how things develop."
