Dunn was allowed the freedom of the Blues midfield at St. Mary's and he revelled in the role, time after time putting pressure on the Saints back four with dazzling runs and pinpoint cross-field passes.
"Not many people have David Dunn's natural ability, so we're trying to let him express himself in the final third," Bruce said after the 0-0 draw.
"I thought he was the most exciting player on the pitch by a long way.
"And he could have rounded his performance off by sticking a penalty in the back of the net.
"We're disappointed not to come away with three points. We were the better team and have improved so much in a short space of time."
Well its been a long time since I saw an attacking midfielders display of this quality in a Blues shirt I have to say and the two/three forty yard crossfield passes were a joy to watch.
