The Switzerland international defender is on loan at Blues until 1st January but The Gunners are likely to lose centre-back Kolo Toure for a number of weeks as he is expected to be included in the Ivory Coast international squad for the African Nations Cup which takes place between 20th January and 10th February and so they may well be unwilling to extend Djouru's loan spell at St Andrew's.
"You are thinking ahead to January already," Bruce has said.
"Will Djourou go back to Arsenal? Will Kolo Toure probably be needed for the African Nations Cup?
"That could well happen.
"If he goes back, there's a big decision we have to try and sort out. Johan has already shown he is a class act."
