Bruce could stick with Sadler

Sadler's display has left the Blues boss Steve mulling over keeping him in the side to face West Ham at Upton Park on Saturday and veteran Steve Vickers, who made his return to action in the same game, is adamant that the youngster can cope if he is pitched into the Premiership cauldron.

"All I know is that if he keeps developing like he is and keeps listening to older players and the people around him, then he's got a massive future," Vickers told the Birmingham Post.

"As far as his football goes, he's got an old head on young shoulders. He wasn't in awe of the occasion on Wednesday, he made the transition very well.

"A few times defensively he was left with the winger running at him one-on-one but he didn't panic, he stood up well and dealt with the situation.

"He also got up to support Stan Lazaridis down the left.

He's very quick and used his pace to good effect."
