Three points from the home game with Southampton on Monday would make Blues mathematically safe from relegation although the 41 points they have already will more-than-likely keep them up.
"We can stay up if we win at home," said the Blues boss after the comfortable 2-0 victory at The Valley.
"It's in our hands and we've given ourselves a great chance.
"Our aim is to stay in the Premiership for a good few years and establish ourselves.
"That performance today was probably our best in the 17 months I've been at the club.
"Considering the enormity of the game and the pressure of the relegation fight, it's a bit special when we play like that. We were very, very worthy winners.
"We took the game to Charlton and I can't give enough credit to the players - and if there's a more honest bunch around I haven't seen them."
