Sullivan claims that an online petition, set up by supporters who are against the signing of the 28-year-old former Charlton and Leeds midfielder, may well have scupperred Blues' attempts to lure Bowyer to St Andrew's.
Bowyer, Sullivan says, does not want to koin a club where he is not wanted.
"It looks like we are now going to lose out on a terrific player due to a small minority of fans, and I am absolutely gutted," Sullivan told the club's official website, www.bcfc.com
If Blues fail in their attempts to sign Bowyer then it will be the second time they have failed with a bid for the player. He opted for a move from Leeds to West Ham when Blues were interested in signing him three years ago. Why he would snub the move this time just because a couple of hundred fans object to his transfer is behond me.
