Newspaper reports in Ireland suggested on Wednesday that Blues had lodged a bid of around £150,000, which would rise based on appearance's, for the 25-year-old midfielder but the League of Ireland Premier Division side had turned down the offer. "At this stage I don't like to say how optimistic or pessimistic I am. When I have got something to say, I'll let you know. "He's had a good season for St Pat's and he looks a decent player."
Now, Blues boss McLeish has confirmed his interest in Fahey who was once on the books of both Arsenal and Aston Villa.
"We've made inquiries about him now," McLeish told the Birmingham Mail.
"There's nothing I can tell you about offers but we have certainly taken it to an inquiry.
