The Blues striker has been charged by the FA following a scuffle in the penalty area with Bolton full-back Nicky Hunt during the match at St. Andrews but the club have confirmed that they will appeal the charge claiming that Morrison was being trodden on by the Wanderers full-back.
Referee Uriah Rennie did not see the incident at the time but has said after studying video evidence that had he seen it he would have only shown the Blues striker a yellow card.
If found guilty Morrison could face an automatic one match ban although a fine and a warning as to his future conduct is the most likely outcome.
