Last updated : 12 May 2004 By Brian Cartlidge

The result at St Mary's killed-off the Geordies chances of finishing in fourth spot and they now have to hope that the Villa drop points at home to Manchester Utd on Saturday and that they get something from their final game against Liverpool at Anfield to finish fifth and claim a UEFA Cup spot. Here's Hoping!
