On the same day that the England Under 21 was arrested on suspicion of a drink/driving offence 22-year-old Pennant has joined Blues on a season long loan deal.
Pennant will not be eligible to make his Blues bow in the FA Cup tie at Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as he has already played for Arsenal in the competition against Stoke City in the third round.
