Bruce is excited by the prospect of welcoming Figueroa to St Andrews and even striker Geoff Horsfield, whose place is under added pressure, insisted bringing the Argentine youngster on board was a good thing.
"It’s good for the squad," he said.
"We have signed an Argentina international which keeps pressure on places. We have five quality strikers now in Figueroa, Christophe Duggary, Stern John, Clinton Morrison and myself."
Bruce said that while the deal was not 100% done it was very close to completion, and he is looking forward to throwing Figueroa into the mix.
"He has a hell of a good scoring record, has just broken into the Argentina national squad and has a lot to offer us," he said.
"(The problem of adapting) is always a thought with any signing from abroad, but he has time on his side, he is young and if we have to wait for him, we will wait for him."
