The A-League side's coach Dave Mitchell had been quoted as saying that his club have made enquiries as to the availability of the 35-year-old Blues striker who moved to St Andrews on a free transfer from West Brom last summer. "That's not a rumour, that's a fact," Mitchell was quoted as saying.
"He's under contract but I have made some inquiries about him and he's a good player."
However, Blues have denied having received any approach from Perth Glory for Phillips and in a club statement have said that they would not welcome any.
They have also said that they will be asking Fifa to investigate whether Perth had broken any regulations on approaching players who are under contract to another club.
