After the trouble that accurred at both Premiership games between the two sides last season the club were keen to make sure that the first derby of the season at St. Andrew's passed without incident - and thats exactly what happened. "It all went off without anything happening."
"The whole stadium was electric and had a great atmosphere. I'm absolutely delighted with the co-operation of both sets of fans as well as everybody involved with both clubs and West Midlands Police," Karren Brady said in a statement on the Blues official website, www.bcfc.com
"It just goes to show what a great fixture the Second City derby really is."
Blues boss Steve Bruce also commented on the fans behaviour in his after match interviews on tv and radio: "There was no suggestion of trouble. Everyone behaved themselves and after what happened last year, that is the pleasing thing," he said.
