The Blues long serving keeper played a total of six games for the Sky Blues during his one month at Highfield Road, the last of which came in the 1-0 defeat against Sunderland last Saturday.
Should Coventry renew their interest in Bennett in the hours leading up to the closing of the transfer deadline for Coca Cola League sides on Thursday then they would have to sign the Blues keeper on a permanent deal as they have now used up their their two loan deals only option by signing Shaun Goater on loan from Reading today and West Brom midfielder Lloyd Dyer on Tuesday.
Sheffield United, with whom Benno also had a loan spell earlier this season, are also rumoured to be interested in taking him back to Bramall Lane on a permanent deal.
