The Blues Reserves Scottish striker has returned to St Andrews just two games into the new season having failed to settle in Blackpool.
"Andrew came to see me, he said he didn't want to be here anymore, he wanted to go back to Birmingham," Seasiders boss Colin Hendry told his clubs official website.
"I think logistically he can't go back and play there until a week on Monday, but there was no point in keeping a player here who wasn't happy.
"More importantly he didn't have the fight along with the rest of the lads here at the minute and he didn't show the right attitude so we have let him go back and wasted a loan, because it was a three month loan and he has gone back after eight or nine days so it is disappointing, but we will look around to find a replacement."
