Blues, however, have rejected The Baggies offer for the versatile defender and the Baggies boss has said that they won't increase their initial bid.
“We have made a bid for Liam Ridgewell, that’s true,” Hodgson told the Birmingham Mail.
“As far as I’m concerned we’ve made our bid and if they’ve turned it down then perhaps we need to start looking elsewhere.
“The club isn’t anxious to improve that bid.
“So as far as I’m concerned it was an idea that came up.
“I thought it was a good idea at the price we thought was a possibility.
“But if it’s not a possibility then we will move away.
“We are not desperate to do business.
“If we are going to do business it has to be at the price we might do something at in summer, not at the price it might be in January.
“The price side of it and discussions are down to Jeremy Peace and Dan Ashworth.
“All I know is that we put a bid in, I know the bid’s been rejected, I’ve happily accepted that and moved on from that.”
