AJ scored the only goal of the game at the Tilton Road end of the ground but, in complete contrast to his celebrations after scoring at Villa Park earlier this month when he taunted the fans in the Holte End, he simply walked back to the centre-circle without milking the moment and earned a standing ovation from the Blues fans for his gesture.

"I didn't want to rub it in," the 23-year-old striker explained after the game.

"I spent five years at Birmingham and I respect the fans here and the club."
